The 2026/27 season — delayed a week because of the World Cup — is under way, with Arsenal defending their title and three big-city clubs back in the top flight.
Friday Night Football kicked the season off at the Emirates as Arsenal, English football's reigning champions, hosted newly-promoted Coventry City. The 2026/27 campaign runs 35th-season strong through to 30 May 2027, with the transfer window closing on 31 August.
Ipswich Town and Sunderland, and Nottingham Forest and Leeds United, also renew fixtures on the opening weekend.
